Technique Junkies Oldies but Goodies

Today's Oldie but Goodie Wednesday at Technique Junkies Stamps.

I have a Rainboot and "brolley" theme going on here on my blog~

I LOVE this stamp. So much in fact, you've seen it three times in the last couple of weeks, in one form or another.

The Boots, Umbrella and Rainboots are all one image, but it's fun to deconstruct it.

I used my MISTI and Markers to colour each part of the image and stamp them separately onto the card front.

I used Pear Pizzazz, Bermuda Bay and Melon Mambo Ink along with my Versafine black.

I took a touch of soft sky and my watercolour brush to add a wee shadow under the boots

Finally, I used the marker to highlight the sentiment and stamped it on Bermuda Bay Cardstock.

I sponged a little Bermuda ink along the left edge of the circle and mounted it on foam dots~

I can see myself using this stamp over and over~~~~

Make sure you check out the Technique Junkies FB group for more oldies but goodies!

So this happened today.....

It's a drizzly and dreary day here today, so what better to do than don some cozy slippers and stamp!

My creation was inspired by the Colour Challenge over at Splitcoaststampers

Smoky Slate, Pink  and Soft Sky.

I had yet to break out this sweet Showered with Love Stamp and Matching Die set from Impression Obsession. I coloured the with the Matching Stamp n Write Markers, so the shading isn't quite as smooth as with Copic, but I do like the effect.

I then did something rather different. I paired this super cute set with a fun and funky background image by Seth Apter. This one is called Asteroid Belt

I wasn't quite sure about it, but I like kind of mimics rainy weather, cause if it were an asteroid belt whirling about your hear, you'd need more than an Umbrella, Wellies and a Hat to save yourself! lol. Ahhh my imagination getting away on me again!!!!

So yeah, a little share for you today.

Hope you likey!

Featured Stamper Sunday

How is your Sunday going? It's a lovely day here and I have plans to get a little yard work done, but this morning I was in a crafty mood and decided to play along with the Featured Stampers Challenge
I coloured the Cuddle Bunny Stamp with Copic Markers. The sentiment is from the More Basic Greeting Clear set. This is a great sentiment set and I use it quite often.

I found this pretty Designer Paper called Hearts Ease from Couture Creation.

Lastly, I added some pearls as I cased Kelli's design. You can see her card HERE.
I ought to get off the computer now and get outside while the sun shines!!

Technique Junkies, Oldies but Goodies Wednesday!

Today is Oldie's but goodies day at Technique Junkie Stamps! I have a coupon code if you'd like to shop!

I used my misti to stamp a light Floral background using the Contemporary Floral stamp

I sponged some pool party and old olive in to create the look of sky and grass.

I stamps the Flamingo in Flamingo Ink and added in the dark elements with a marker.

The Flamingo Stamp is one stamp with the sentiment, thus the handiness of the Misti which  you can also purchase HERE in the TJ store.

Lastly, I added a few flowers just for good measure!

Here's a coupon code just for you!

Bring your own Sunshine

Good Morning!!

I up WAYYYYYYY early this morning. That isn't such a bad thing as I will be back to work in two weeks, so I better get myself into an earlier morning routine!

I crafted this card for yesterday's Clean and Simple challenge over at Splitcoaststampers. The challenge was "raise up". I mounted both the main image and the umbrella on dimensional tape to meet the challenge, as well as adding the flowers to coordinate with the paper piecing on the umbrella and the band of paper.

What ABOUT this paper? Delicious!!!! It is from the Rose Quartz collection from Prima! Stay tuned for some more creations with this gorgeous line!

I showed you the sentiment from this stamp on my last post, now this is the stamp in its entirety.

Isn't it adorable? It's called Bring Your Own Sunshine. I think it's so pretty and I can see a lot of use in the future.
I love the sentiment. I aim to live my life that way; to look at the positive. Even when life deals you a snowball ( you know, the hard packed one with a big rock in it?) If you can change your perspective a tiny bit and look for the positive it may ease your burdens a little. Doesn't mean the snowball might not catch you square in the chin, but if you look at the bright side, you didn't lose an eye!

I stamped my image onto white cardstock and then ran it through the oval die, leaving the image in the die until I sponged pool party ink on. That's what left the fun white border.

I coloured the boots with Copic Marker and added a slash of white gel pen as a highlight.

Lastly, I added some fine raindrops by using my glue pen and some glitter!!!

I assembled my card and added the little flowers!!!

Speaking of little flowers, we have ONE, yes ONE lonely daffodil in the garden~
IT did make me smile however; a good indication that summer's on its way!!!

I hope you have a MOST amazing day!

Technique Junkies April Challenge

Good Morning!!!

Are you all ready for Easter?
I have some exciting news to share

I was offered a spot on the Technique Junkies Stamps Design Team.

I'm really excited to be a part of the team and hone up on my stamping techniques!!!

TJ stamps has a new monthly challenge commencing this month with the TYE DYE circles challenge.  You can find the link to the original tutorial HERE or you can check out all the rules for the challenge and Jeanne's step by step instructions HERE

I was really excited to get my start up package of stamps earlier this week and just knew that  the Contemporary Floral background stamp would be perfect for this challenge.

For my Tye dye technique card, I started with Pool Party Ink, then added Dapper Denim and finished up with Elegant Eggplant ink. I used my aquapainter brust to soften out the edges. I then watered down a little eggplant ink to add some splatters to fill in the white space a bit. I thought it needed a touch more, so I added some black and white paint flecks to compliment the white space and to coordinate with the black in the sentiment.

and now...... for the Stamping!!!!!!

I used my MISTI to achieve the effect I wanted with this card.

1. Ink up the Contemporary Fall background stamp in Pool Party and stamp it onto the background.
2. Wait a few minutes to be sure the ink is dry.
3. Clean the stamp and add touches of versamark to the image here and there, making sure not to
    cover the entire background.
4. Sprinkle with Silver Embossing Powder and heat.
5. Press the inkpad into the lid to get a small pool of ink.
6. Add a touch of water to thin it out a bit.
7. Take a toothbrush (preferably not the one you are currently using. Ha!) and pick up the ink into the
brush. I like to use another paintbrush handle to tap on the toothbrush handle to release the ink.
8. I used the same process with black and white acrylic paint to splatter.

Lastly, I added in the sentiment. It comes from the Bring your own Sunshine stamp. It is a singular stamp, but again by using the Misti, I was able to only colour on the sentiment portion of the stamp with black marker to capture the sentiment

Click on the TJ badge to get directly to the challenge post.

I also have something SUPER EXCITING to share with all of you!

You can always save 10% on your stamp order by using my coupon code~~~

That's all for today!!!!!

Festive Friday

Good Morning!

Are you all ready for the weekend? Hoping that the weather is better so that we can really confirm that Spring has sprung!

I think this is my Favourite Festive Friday Stamp to date AND it meets my requirements for mailing~~

Mitra has released some new dies over at Impression Obsession.

I used these Scribble Circles to create this abstract snowman.

I used the hat from the Snowman set. I trimmed the bottom of the hat to follow the line of the smallest scribble circle.

In behind, I created a snowy background using the grunge  wash stamp. Yep, that's the same background that I used on my coffee card yesterday.

Finally I stamped the Christmas Comes Anew stamp in black to balance out the hat!

Last, but certainly not least =, I added some sparkles with Cosmic Twinkles.

Hope you likey!!!

Some Bunny Loves You

Good Morning!!
I wanted to share a new stamp and die set from Impression Obsession Stamps

Sunny Bunnies and Sunny Bunnies Dies. Aren't they too stinkin' cute?

I love that they are petite sized stamps and dies so that you can add a whole family to your card!

I just coloured up the sweet momma and her babies with Copics and Touch Markers and then used some additional dies to create the scene.

ATC fun!

Good Morning!!!!!

This is probably the first, maybe second time that you will have seen ATC's on my blog!
I've never really been much into them until I joined Vera Lane Studio Digi Stamps Facebook Group.

I first became acquainted with Janet Klein when I was designing for Stampotique Stamps.
I've always loved her style and was so excited when she started to release digital images. I have managed to collect a few over the past year and thought I'd give the ATC card exchange a go!

These are the two cards I created for the February and March trades!!!

The February theme was Love and Friendship

The March Theme was a mix up theme. You had to combine more than one set. I used three or four in this one I think!!!!

I'm really excited to see what is on for April. It's not only fun to make them, but it's really exciting to get a card back in the mail!

Have a lazy Sunday!

You can find Janet's Etsy shop HERE

Festive Friday

Good Morning!

I'm here again with another episode of Festive Friday. Back to Christmas cards again this week. This one will NOT meet my minimum postage requirement, but I couldn't resist adding the little heart buttons to his belly. They are a touch crowded, but I like them. I should be able to hand deliver this one, so I can say it's even better than regulation mail. So here's the goods on this card.

I started with the Snowman Window Scene die. I cut it out twice; once in White and once in Not quite Navy. Then  I picked and chose which elements to leave white. I coloured the snowman with prism pencils and shaded him with Copic marker. Lastly, I added some glitter just because you KNOW I love me some pizzazle!!!

I embossed the Red Panel with a Creative Expressions Star embossing folder. I added some sections of the Large Snowflake Die to fill in the background. I added the Merry Christmas Die. I love this die because the die actually says Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. That way you can use it for Christmas, New Years or all in one!!! Great value for your $$$$$$.

Finally I added some sparkly bling as a final touch!

Hope you like it!!!!!

Top O' the Morning to Ye

HappySt. Patricks Day!!!!

Since today is Festive Friday, I took a little break from Christmas Card creating to bring you this lucky little alligator. I didn't have a Leprechaun on hand, so I used this cute little Patchwork Gator  to compliment  the Shamrock and the Fancy Shamrock. Why on earth did I use the Alligator..... well, let me you. When I think of St, Paddy's day, I think of the Irish Rovers. Of course they are famous for "The Unicorn"

They sing of Green there you go! That's an Irish Alligator on my card!
I added a little texture to my Green Alligator by stamping him with one of the mini patterns 7 stamp sets. Lastly, I glittered up the Shamrocks and added the Good Luck Die just for good measure!!!!

I had the amazing privilege of visiting Ireland for several days last fall as part of a three week tour of Great Britain. I have so many beautiful pictures. Here's a few of my faves from the Ring Of Kerry and Killarney National Park, the home of Ross Castle

Thatched Roof Cottages are so authentique

We enjoyed a horse drawn Trolley ride through Killarney National Park

Beautiful Deer

So Serene

What remains of the Grand Castle

Beautiful green countryside.

Our gorgeous day came to an end in the small fishing village of Dunmore East

We enjoyed a few pints and some "Craic" at Hayes Pub!

While in Ireland, I searched for Leprechauns and Unicorns to no avail, but I did meet some lovely people and was blessed to enjoy the Irish Culture and Countryside.

Wishing you and yours good fortune for the coming year

Impression Obsession Designer Challenge-Not so Moody Blue

Good Morning! Welcome to the Impression Obsession Designer Challenge. I can't believe that it's Thursday already. Where DID this week go? I have two shares for you as I had two occasions to create some cards. A friend is a new Gma to a beautiful baby boy so blue was perfect for this nautical newborn greeting. I teamed up the Patchwork Whale Die with some Echo park bundle of joy boy paper adding some waves and water using the Ocean Border Die and the wave adapt a background. I finished of the card by adding some sparkly gems to simulate water droplets. Lastly, I added the new baby sentiment using the Congrats sentiments die.

This card was created for a Cousin who is in the Hospital. We thought we'd send her a little smile
I coloured the flowers with my Zig Clean Color markers

Here's the IO supplies I used!

I'm looking forward to seeing your blue cards!

Festive Friday

Good Morning!

Here's my share for this week. In keeping with my guidelines of making quarter fold cards, I wasn't able to fit a sentiment on this card. I'll save all the good stuff for the middle!!!!

I coloured Starry Branches with Prism Pencils and Gamsol

I sponged around the tree with Soft Sky and Added Flower Soft Polar white for some dimension.
Lastly, I added my trademark snow flakes with a Sharpie Paint Pen!

That's all for today! Have a great weekend!

Impression Obsession Designer Challenge-Fun with Flowers

Good Morning!!!! Sorry I'm a little late on the uptake, but I didn't have my publish setting accurate! Here I am now with my Fun with Flowers Challenge card.

I have to tell you that I am totally Inspired by my Fellow Team mate Ilina's use of colour on florals. So much, that she enabled me to purchase the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.

This was my first attempt at watercolouring flowers.

I chose the flower from the Maya stamp set as it is a nice size, which is perfect for colour practice. I embossed the flower in white; a great idea when starting with watercolour to ensure you stay in the line!

I had a lot of fun experimenting with different colours! Next time I watercolour, I'll keep track of the pens that I used and make note here for you.

I really love the vibrancy of the markers. So much so, that I didn't want to cover up my "work of art: hehe! I decided to choose a fine die that I thought would enhance, rather than distract from the flowers!!!!

I am excited to see what you all do this week!

Reviving a Scrapbook Challenge

Good Morning!!! I have to recap what a GLORIOUS weekend and the WEATHER!!! It's been positively Balmy really. 10C here and many of us hearty Canadians are ready to cast our down coats aside for fleecy Hoodies!!!!!

I just came back from a little walk with Syd and Mom and have to say I'm glad I wore my winter coast as it was just a touch chilly in the Breeze. Even so, just having the warm sun on one's face can do wonders with regard to lifting a wintery mood.

A few years ago, I hosted the Inspiration Challenge on Splitcoaststampsers Things got a little complicated in my life and sadly, I took a step back from many of the things I loved, including hosting the Scrapbook Challenge.

In the last two years, once again, my life has become manageable, having purged unhealthy relationships, commitments and alliances. I have once again found time for me and for doing the things that I love the most......relaxing walks (although my distance is limited) spending time with my friends and family and my creative expression.

So as you see above, this is the first layout i've created in quite some time. I have a funny story to share about the Scrapbooking Papers. Last year I was at a crop and I purchased this packet from a lady who had a pop up shop there. We are so limited with regard to accessing Scrapbooking Supplies here in Kingston as we don't have a brick and mortar store here. Anyway, I purchased this Summer Paper Collection by Fabscraps. I am a sucker for anything Beachy or Nautical. The Kit held an assortment of delicious papers ( some of which you're peepers are gazing upon now) as well as a few Chipboard pieces and some stickers.

In the layout above, I coloured the "AHOY" Chipboard piece with my Copic Markers so I could shade them. The Beautiful large lighthouse was on the patterned paper already and the colour combination perfect for this photo that we took of Jonathon on a visit to Confederation basin to board several tall ships. Was that really sixteen years ago?

I spoonged the edges of the patterned papers with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo; my favourite ink for distressing!

The stickers in the package were fairly sheer, so I adhered the red one on top of a White button to make the sentiment (summer) easier to read. It is a fairly uncomplicated layout, but I prefer my pages to be relatively clean.

I treated the chipboard a little differently when creating this card. First I coloured it with a Black Sharpie. Once it was dry, I rubbed here and there with some metallic rubs. This gave the anchor a distressed look. I also added a touch of hemp to reinforce the nautical theme and mounted the stickers on Chipboard to give it a little dimension.

I would gladly list the papers, but sadly this line is a few years old and has been discontinued for awhile. However they have some AMAZING Scrapbook Lines and you can find them HERE

I will be sharing more creations with this fun line however because I surely won't waste a lick of this super sweet designer paper.

P.S. you can find the SB Inspiration challenge HERE

Bee is for Birthday

The weekend is quickly coming to an end. WOW! We had an amazing weekend weather wise. With the temperature creeping up to 10c  it felt like Spring. Yesterday was a super day for a Road Trip. My Girlfriend Laura and I took a drive down to Belleville to meet Kim, who was down from London at her Brothers! Of course Ecstasy Crafts is along the way and we couldn't resist a little side trip there. I bought the cutest stamp and die set and will share with you in the near future.

As you know, I really enjoy playing the Splitcoaststamper Challenges. I find they motivate me to create, share and spend time on the website looking at all the great creations.

Sunday is Featured Stamper challenge. One of the stampers Gallery is featured and it is our challenge to Case the card, but make some changes. This week Beverly Sue Wilson's Gallery was featured

You can see her card HERE

In my sample, I kept the flowers Monocrhromatic

I just recently purchased the ZIG Clean Brush markers and I LOVE watercolouring with them. The colours are so rich. I only used One shade of coral, green and yesllow. Impressive!

I Love the Happy Stamp set and Matching Die from Impression Obsession The Set allows you to stamp a Shadow and Layer the die cut over to give it a 3D effect! LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!!!

The flowers were stamped in Stayzon and can be found in the Maya Clear Set

Lastly, I stamped the chalk bee using my Mini  Misti. That allowed me to used markers to stamp the various sections.

I finished up the card and added a little Vicki G Pizzazle with some gorgeous Cosmic Shimmer Diamond frost glitter! This is some of the most gorgeous glitter I've ever used!!!

This cheery card is going to a most cheerful lady. I sure hope she enjoys it

Festive Friday

Good Morning! It's hard to believe that we're 7 weeks into 2017 already. My gosh, the time sure does fly doesn't it? I find even now that i'm home the days seems over before it has even began. A trip to the pool or the grocery store and a short walk or two with Sydney and a little stamping of course and it's bed time again!

I have a "stampless" card for you this week as i've used all dies for my festive creation. I was inspired to make this card by the Ways to Use it challenge on Splitcoaststampers in which we were to create a shaped card. This Mitten from Impression Obsession is the perfect size for a sweet Christmas Card

Although I didn't use it, the die set comes with a nice snowflake and ribbon accent
I added some dimension to the mitten by running it through my big shot with the SU! Cable Knit Sweater Embossing folder.

To embellish the mitten, I cut the holly and berries form the Patchwork Holly Die set

Lastly, I added just the "Merry" portion of the Merry Christmas Die by carefully cutting the sentiment apart. I did it in Gold Glitter paper so as to add a little festive bling!!!! I'll save the "Christmas" word for another card perhaps!!!

That's it for today! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
