Hopping with My Sweet Petunia and Unity Stamps

 Good Morning!
Welcome to the My Sweet Petunia and Unity Stamps Blog Hop!

I was very honoured to be asked to be a Guest Designer for the hop.

If you've been hopping already, you've arrived here from the very talented Sharon Nettleship's Blog

I LOVE my Misti and rarely stamp without it!

I have a few little techniques that I like to use with Line Stamps

Today I'm showcasing two awesome stamp sets from Unity Stamps

My first card features thank you kindly

For me, this set was calling for a soft watercoloured look

I wanted some variation in colour and to have the bear in brown so I used my Original MISTI, memento black ink and SU Markers to set the image down in steps.

First, I stamped the parts of the image I wanted in black.

I inked the whole image carefully, using a baby wipe to take off the ink I wanted to set down in different colours.

Next, I added some Melon Mambo for the flowers

Then, some Old Olive stems

I used the Basic Black Marker to bring her little hand back in.

Lastly, I used Bashful Blue, Creamy Caramel, Taupe and Dijon with a waterbrush as I wanted just hints of soft colour.

I really wanted to highlight "Love" in the sentiment, so I used my Misti and Markers to colour directly on the stamp to get the two colours onto the sentiment.

I was digging the mostly monochromatic colour scheme, so I just mounted the image onto another shade of blue designer paper and added the enamel dots to bring in a little more pink!

But that's not it!!! I had to make another card with this absolutely A-dorable May Unity Sentiment Kit. It's called Happy Snail Mail and it is CHOCKED full of awesome sentiments!!!

The image that accompanies the set is just way too cute!!!

I also love the excellent quality of the soft red rubber!

For this guy, I used my  Mini MISTI to create variance in colour in the sentiment and to also get an OMBRE effect on the larger words.

I stamped the image in Memento Black ink as I was using Copic Markers to colour the image.

I coloured directly on the sentiment with a Pear Pizzaz Marker.

I used Melon Mambo for the Snail Mail sentiment

Then I went over the bottom third of the word with real red marker.

This is the final result after colouring with copic and adding Signo White Gel Pen Highlights

I sure hope you like my creations as much as I enjoyed making them.

Your next stop on the hop is Karen Maldonado. I know she will have something amazing to share with you!

This is a HUGE hop! Not only will you be inspired, but you will also have the opportunity to win some amazing prizes!

Dark Doodles

Did you see that Pat is now carrying the Chameleon Color Tone Pencils at Technique Junkie Stamps?

I was all over purchasing them after seeing fellow DT Chris Dayton's artwork~ WOWSA

Soooooo I cracked them open yesterday and this card is literally the product of my first test run with the pencils. They are super soft and blend really well.

To make my card, I stamped ROSE DOODLES onto Stampin' Up! Black Cardstock with Versamark and embossed in white.

I used Pencil no. 9 for the pink flower, no. 12 for the purple, 14 for the blue and 20 for the green. It's probably not perfect, but I do really like the effect. I took a video while I was colouring, but I need to upload Imovie to my phone to finish it up!

I embossed the lavendar panel with a rose embossing folder and added three enamel dots to match. I really wanted to showcase the image, so I'm saving the sentiment for the inside

Lastly as you know, almost everything I make needs a little pizzazzle, so I added some Cosmic Shimmer Twinkles to finish it off!!

I hope to share many more projects with you!

Festive Friday

Happy Friday!!!

I've had a little hiatus from Festive Friday (  a little Stampers Laziness if the truth be told).
This week, I'm bringing you a super simple card using one of the new IO summer release dies: Stars. These Stars are so versatile that you can not only use them for your Fourth of July cards, but for many other projects as well.

I cut the stars onto glittery cardstock and slapped em on the paper! The little starts were perfect to fill in. Lastly, I stamped the Happy Hanukkah stamp with Versamark and embossed in goal.

My goal: to bring you simple card ideas that you can do in bulk and also in a size that won't require additional postage

For my Canadian Readers, I hope you have a safe Victoria Day weekend!

Impression Obsession Designer Challenge-Animal Friends

Good Morning!!!!

Did you enjoy the hop? I sure loved to see what the Design Team did with all the new goodies.
Today's Challenge is Animal Friends. I stretched it a bit with the Dragon Fly, but I just couldn't wait to show you these two new awesome dies, but also how I completed my background using the Impression Obsession Hybrid inks. Trouble is I wasn't able to get the post up last night. I'm off to work this morning, so i'll have a more detailed description of the card later today

Y'all come back now, ya hear?

Impression Obsession Spring/Summer Blog Hop

Good Morning!!!!

I sure hope that you're enjoying the Blog Hop so far!!! I just can't get enough of these Beach Themed dies and I couldn't resist making a Diorama Card with the Seashell Border , Fish Set and Salt Life dies.

My favourite place to be is near, on or in the Ocean!!!! I have missed my tropical Vakay for the last couple of years and I sure hope that I get there this January. It is definately my Happy place!!! I'd love to hear where your happy place is and if you've travelled to tropical locaations, which one is your fave? Mine so far is Barbados. Love the food, music, people and the confidence in getting around the Island safely. Bajan folks are so warm and welcoming.

To make the card, I cut the dies out of Blue Fern Studio Seaside Cottage Paper. I used Night of Navy Cardstock to create the diorama card. I sponged the fish with Baby Blue Ink, then I used a touch of Cosmic Shimmer Silver Chrome Glitter Kiss. I found that the Navy Paper was a little bit too much on it's own, so I distressed it with Enchanted Gold Gilding Polish. I sponged some Tan Ink on the Salt Life Heading and added a touch of Pralines and cream glitter. Lastly, I added a string of pearls to the bottom of the card. Hope you likey!!!!

We have some beautiful new stamps and dies to share AND a Gift Certificates to give away!...
The Blog Hop will be posted on the Impression Obsession Blog at 6am EST May 15th - May 17th.

This card is showcased on the IO site, so you may have already seen it. I still wanted to showcase it on my blog, because it's probably one of my favourites!!!

How cute is this little Teddy Bear? I think super cute. He can be found in the Beary Sweet Set by Pink Ink for Impression Obsession. I coloured him with my Copic Markers! I didn't have my IO ink pads at that point, so I used SU inks for shading, creating a background and stamping.

The stamp in the background is called Seagrass. I shaded the Mini Shell Set and Sea Birds Dies and of course adding a touch of Pizzazzle!!!!

and I bring you today's hop list:

Impression Obsession Spring/Summer Blog Hop Day 2

Good Morning!

Welcome to day two of the IO Spring/Summer Release Blog Hop

I have two beach themed cards to share with you today

I'm also showcasing three colours of the fabulous new Hybrid Inks

and

In order to complete the background to this card, I went direct to soft sky paper with the Sea Glass Ink Pad. I spritzed it with a bit of water to spread it a bit.

Next, I die cut the Shell Border in Vanilla. I sponged the three darker shells in Cocoa Ink, the Sand dollar and the starfish in beige. I also sponged along the bottom of the border in beige. I stamped the Advice Mermaid sentiment in Chocolate Ink.

Lastly, I added some Pralines and Cream Glitter to the Sand dollar and the Starfish.

and that's a wrap! On that card anyway!

Here's a quick and easy card I created using the Lighthouse Circle Die

I simply cut the die out in the middle of a 5.75 x 5.75 inch piece of cardstock.
I added the two blue cardstocks in behind to create water and sky. I added a touch of red for the top of the lighthouse. I mounted the main panel onto red and navy in keeping with a nautical theme. Lastly I added the HUGS die

Sooooooo once again, here's the rules for the hop!

Of course the Mother's Day Card is a day late; however I can tell you that my Momma LOVED it!!!!
I had tickets for Elton John tucked inside! I'm so excited to see him with her in November!

I used Couture Creations Designer Paper as a background for the card and in behind the Teacup and Teapot Dies. They are SO elegant!!!! I cut the Clock Face in Vanilla Paper.

I arranged the dies and papers on the card along with some Prima Flowers.

The sentiment is from the Happy Day Clear Set. This set with cover Father's day too, as well as Valentines and St. Patricks!!! The fonts are amazing and it's a mini clear set!!! Gotta love it~~~~

Technique Junkies May Release Blog Hop and discount!

Good Morning!!!

Good Morning!
Welcome to the Technique Junkies Stamps May Blog Hop~
You are in store for some AMAZING eye candy. I've seen all the Designer cards and they are simply delicious!!!!

If you've been hopping already, you will be coming from   Judy Jackson's Blog

Today I'm showcasing Lollipop Flowers

I love this super cute image and it's so versatile. I'm showing you two different ways you can use it.

I created the tag by going direct to paper with Green and Pool Party Ink.
I used my Misti and markers to get different colours on the flowers. I stamped the circular flower onto white paper and mounted it on foam dimensionals. I added the Life is a beautiful ride sentiment in Dapper Denim. I stamped the Flowers on the card base in Flirty Flamingo. I wanted to add a little more dimension to the tag, so I used white paint, a small lid and a toothbrush to add the white elements. Ahhhh a Stamper and her fancy tools!!! Lastly, I added a bow and some acrylic dots to the flower centres. Such fun to make!!!

All of the May 2017 New Release stamps are 15% off through May 8th! We can all use a little bargain now, right? No codes needed, just put them in your shopping cart and the discount will be applied at checkout.

For this card, I started with the background paper. It's from the Prima Marketing Rose Quartz line. I wanted to use complimentary colours, Fresh Fig was perfect!!!! I embossed the image in white onto pink cardstock, then I went direct to paper with Fresh Fig. I gave it a little wipe off with a baby wipe after to bring the flowers to the forefront. The Oval dies are from Spellbinders. Lastly I added this super sweet sentiment from the Sentimental Sayings Set
Lastly, I added some Bling around the main image because, well....bling is my thing!
I hope you have enjoyed my little share for the day. Now you should be off to the VERY talented Giovana Smith's Blog

If you haven't started

Here's the hop order!!!

Have a great day!
